Live on the Green

So I've only lived in Nashville my entire life, and never knew there were free concerts downtown in the summer! ...That or I just never bothered. Looking into it. This year I took gander and really wanted to go, but had no one to go with. I was complaining to my other half in the library last Friday about my dilemma when she said that her son and friends were going and he would take me. The rest is history!
Last night I went downtown and got to see Johnny Swim and Cage the Elephant at Live on the Green with these 2 strapping (very) young gentlemen! It was a fun time, though I am kinda bummed that I only discovered this awesome gem the closing weekend! Next summer I gotta get on the boat sooner!

If they listened to the words they'd find the message that's beneath.
But it goes in one ear and right out the other..."

Be Nice...or not?

Today is actually "Be Nice" day in Williamson County, so I woke up and put on my "Be Nice" shirt, got ready as normal, and went to my car to leave.....only to find out that my car had been broken into. This has never happened to me before and I didn't know what to do. It appeared that they only emptied the center console and glove compartment onto the seats, but upon further inspection I've discovered my GPS is missing (which was old anyway). Only thing that freaks me out about that is all the addresses that were saved in it. So here I am, going to be late to school, as I wait for the police to come file a report.

At least they left the #GlitterGlasses. If only I could see what they saw last night...

You Only Live Once, that's the motto **** YOLO

So last night my BFF and I went to the Drake vs. Lil' Wayne concert in South downtown Atlanta. What a show!! We have loved Drake since he was Jimmy on Degrassi and were actually supposed to see him in concert last November before my doggy got sick, so somehow at the last minute this mini trip worked out! The show was quite entertaining between the dialogue between the 2 rappers and singing along to songs we have only heard at a distance. Either way, we both agreed that it was so worth it and Britt was even able to knock this one off her bucket list!

Thanks Bert-a-bee for taking me out!

Chattanoogaaaaa, Come See for Yourself!

Today was a fun day! I probably haven't actually been to Chattanooga since I was 13, let alone get the chance to explore. I got a very small taste of some hiking adventures and now I am ready to go back, but the weather wasn't being very cooperative once we finally figured out what we wanted to do. Oh well...Next time!

Midwestern Night in Nashville

Last night CJ was in town and brought all his friends from home. We all went downtown to Broadway to show them around our city. #GlitterGlasses  made it onstage again, this time with our favorite fiddle player that we are always searching for when we go out!

All in all, it was one heck of a night!

ALS Challenge

So apparently this ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has been going on for a while. Fortunately, I have been "fasting" facebook/Instagram, so I have missed the hype...BUT my lovely little twins I babysit decided to challenge me anyway. Of course, #glitterglasses had to do it with me! :-)

I took the challenge! Who's next?

Life is short

As I'm driving to my best friend's father's funeral, I can't help but be faced with the fact that life is too short. Death always catches us off guard, even when you think you are expecting it. We all try to justify why it happens and how the person is always "better off" but when it hits you, really hits you, it still doesn't take the pain away.

The only positive side effect of death is that it reminds us (in the most painful way possible) that we are, in fact, still living. Living with the memory of the ones that have gone before us, but still, nonetheless, living. All we can do is love the ones that are still here and cherish each moment we have.
