I work at the #1 Middle School in TN...SCORE!

So Monday night I (along with quite a chunk of our staff) attended the SCORE Prize ceremony downtown Nashville at the Schermerhorn. It was a HUGE honor to have our school nominated as 1 of the 3 top middle schools in TN, but when it came time to announce the winners they read off our name!! It was unreal! We all jumped out of our seats screaming in excitement!!

After the remainder winners were announced, we got a mini acoustic concert from Dustin Lynch. It was actually really good! I had never really heard his music before

As the night progressed, #GlitterGlasses made the rounds as everyone joined together to celebrate. It was so nice having a good chunk of the staff together outside of school and everyone seemed to really enjoy being together. I'm sure it helped that we all had something BIG to celebrate!

All in all, it was a great day!! Roomie and I even got a pic with the prize! :-)

#WarriorNation

Today was a great day! My other half (Robin) and I did the Warrior Dash! The weather has been steadily hot for who knows how long..it was just 90 this past Tuesday..but on Warrior Dash day, the temps dropped and the high was only 63! The day was actually really beautiful and the views we saw throughout the dash were gorgeous. The weather was only a problem when we were plunged into water or trudged through the mud, haha.

This year I raced WITH #GlitterGlasses on. They got a few dabbles of mud on them, but they survived just as much as I did! :-) Can't wait to see the rest of the pics the photographers took!

Oh..and PS. Age is but a number. This girl KICKED MY BUTT in this race. Who cares if the big 5-0 just happened a few weeks ago! One thing is for certain, she always keeps me moving and stays positive while she does it. I will forever be grateful for the fact God brought her into my life for more reasons than I will ever be able to keep up with.

Love you Robin!

#ThrowbackThursday

These pictures popped up in my Timehop app today and since I've been missing my sister, I thought it would make for a  good post!

This time last year was the week after my first music festival, Music Midtown. I had no idea what I was getting into and I loved every minute of it! The second day it rained almost all day, we trudged through mud, wiped our ranch fingers on trees from lunch, and it was AWESOME! I had such a great time and made memories that will last a lifetime!

Seeing Weezer in the pouring rain was a stand out memory....but the below is one for the record books..obviously! haha...

Looking for the bright stars

So Saturday (9/20/14) heaven got another little puppy angel. Snowflake was only with us for a short time; a mere 5 1/2 years. I feel extremely blessed to have had her with me for that amount of time, though it was much shorter than I ever would have imagined.

She was with me as I laughed, cried, thought my life was over, and when I realized it had just begun.

Before she got sick, I spent more time with her than any other human. She always slept by my side (or under my pillow) and I never had to be alone if she was in the house, including sitting right under my feet as I cooked in the kitchen. I am a firm believer in everything happening for a reason, and I have no doubt that the season of my life she was a part of is when I probably needed her the most.

She may have been a very spoiled little princess (hey, she was the first granddog after all!), she was never short on love. Her grandpappi's were probably her favorite. When I would drive to their house all I had to do was pull in the driveway and she knew exactly where we were; she'd start barking like crazy until I got her into the house. She also loved her auntie and sister Cocobutt; the 4 of us often spent fun times either playing wrestle mania or water park adventures. I could go on and on about all the people that played a role in her life..but I will just stick with pictures...they speak louder anyway (If I left you out, I'm sorry..there were WAY MORE than I realized I had!)

I'm not sure she ever met a person she didn't love and her ability to warm up to people so quickly is what will stick with me. We can all learn a little from that!

Though my heart is breaking at the thought of not hearing her little bark when I come into the house, I am happy that she is finally out of her misery. She got sick last November and the poor thing had been in and out of the vet at least every month, if not every few weeks, since then. She took it like a champ though, even if she was quite the little princess.

Last Fling Before the Ring

Last night we went out to celebrate little Cayce's upcoming wedding. We bounced all over downtown Nashville and had a blast spending time with each other. Hard to believe this girl is getting married!

Every End is a New Beginning

I officially signed off the papers today to close on the house that I have lived in almost 3 years.

Here's to new adventures and beginnings!

Live on the Green

So I've only lived in Nashville my entire life, and never knew there were free concerts downtown in the summer! ...That or I just never bothered. Looking into it. This year I took gander and really wanted to go, but had no one to go with. I was complaining to my other half in the library last Friday about my dilemma when she said that her son and friends were going and he would take me. The rest is history!
Last night I went downtown and got to see Johnny Swim and Cage the Elephant at Live on the Green with these 2 strapping (very) young gentlemen! It was a fun time, though I am kinda bummed that I only discovered this awesome gem the closing weekend! Next summer I gotta get on the boat sooner!

If they listened to the words they'd find the message that's beneath.
But it goes in one ear and right out the other..."
